Out of Bounds is defined by the line between the course-side points at ground level of white stakes or fence posts with black tops
Immoveable Obstructions. The following are immoveable obstructions and relief under Rule 16.1 a or 16.1b may be obtained:
- All stakes
- Fixed sprinkler heads
- Drain along the driveway to the left-hand side of the 14th hole is part of the driveway.
Rule 16.1b applies to immoveable objects in the general area close to putting greens. In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, interference also exists if an immoveable obstruction is: on the player’s line of play, and is within 2 club-lengths of the putting green, and is within 2 club-lengths of the ball. (Exception – There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)
Staked trees, staked shrubs (including the stake and the wrapping) and Garden Beds (as identified by signs) are No Play Zones and are GUR. The player must take relief as provided in Rule 16.1a or 16.1b.
Wheel Ruts. Any deep ruts made by a mower, tractor or motor vehicle may be treated as GUR
Stakes
White with black tops – OOB
White only – GUR
Yellow – Yellow Penalty Area
Red – Red Penalty Area

Ground Staff have right of way
Washaways in Bunkers. Areas in bunkers where sand has been removed by the movement of water resulting in deep furrows through the sand are ground under repair. Relief may be taken as provided in Rule 16.1c.
Operating Sprinklers Areas affected by operating sprinklers and any attached hoses may be treated as an abnormal course condition and relief may be taken as provided in Rule 16.1b. Golfers must not interfere with any operating sprinklers.
Relief from tree roots. If a player’s ball is in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots that are in a part of the general area that is cut to fairway length or less, or in the rough within 4 club lengths of the edge of the ground cut to fairway height, the tree roots are ground under repair. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b. But interference does not exist if the tree roots interfere only with the player’s stance.
Penalty for breach of a Local Rule is the general penalty
Stroke Play – 2 strokes, Match Play – loss of hole.
