It is with deep sadness that we inform you of Les Gorton’s passing earlier this morning.
Les joined Devilbend Golf Club in 1973 as one of our founding members and was honoured with Life Membership in 2006 in recognition of his exceptional service to the club.
Les’s passion for Devilbend Golf Club was unmatched. He remained an active volunteer, always willing to lend a hand. Over the years, he served on the Committee of Management in various roles, including Secretary, Vice President, President, and General Committee member. Most recently, he was the club’s Membership Welfare Officer, a role he carried out with dedication and care.
Even in recent years, Les’s love for the game never waned. He was a regular player on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
On behalf of the committee, members, and staff at Devilbend Golf Club, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Les’s family.
Les will be greatly missed, but his legacy and contributions to the club will always be remembered.
